President’s Memo – 4/30/12

Here it is, my last President’s Memo.  Being President of the Illinois Chapter of ACI has been a very rewarding experience.  It has been an honor to be the face of the Chapter at the dinner meetings and to interact with all of our wonderful speakers.  Our Chapter has had a great year, all of the dinner meetings were very interesting and well attended.  There continues to be many interesting projects in the Chicago area, and we were lucky enough to hear presentations about a few of them as well as one large international project throughout this year.  Our regular dinner meetings will resume in September, with more great topics and presentations.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my term and look forward to continued service of the chapter.

President's Memo 01/05/12

Happy New Year, everyone!  2012 is going to be a great year for the Illinois Chapter of ACI.  We have some great speakers for dinner meetings lined up in the coming months and our long-time Treasurer, Susanne Flood, will be receiving the Chapter Activities Award at the ACI Convention in Dallas, TX in March.  Congratulations Sue!  I can think of no one more deserving!

President's Memo 11/07/11

It is hard to believe that it is already November; the first 5 months of my term as Chapter president have flown by.  It has certainly been eventful. As you are probably aware, our October dinner meeting was cancelled due to a fire in the kitchen at the Erie Café, where we regularly hold our meetings.  It was a fire that was contained in the kitchen of the restaurant and nobody was hurt.  However, the restaurant was closed for approximately 1 week to repair the damage.  The fire occurred two days before our meeting was to be held, and we were not able to schedule an alternative site on such short notice.  I also apologize to Mike Morrison, ACI International, for cancelling the dinner meeting at which he was scheduled to be speaking.  We will try to re-schedule Mike’s presentation regarding the ACI/CRSI Adhesive Anchor Installer Certification at a later date.  I have been told that the repairs have been completed at the Erie Café, which means that our meeting scheduled for November 15 will go on as planned.
